There is no doubt that Carlos Alcaraz is an epochal talent: the titles and performances of the young Spaniard confirm this, as do the praise he has received from other tennis players and former tennis players. As happened at the Laver Cup where, in a press conference, Carlitos was praised above all for his performance against Ben Shelton.
The young American spent splendid words towards his opponent, praising his tennis and underlining how high Carlitos' level is.
"It's hard to accept what happened because I feel like I played at a very high level for almost the entire match. I had good chances in the first set, but any small mistake against Carlos when he's at this level is fatal. I think I could have made better tactical decisions in the important points, but there's no margin for error in front of him when he's in this form.
The best in the world have a very important virtue, which is to increase their level the better they play. He knew how to exploit my good rhythm of the ball and he felt comfortable. He's a brilliant player offensively, but he also knows how to defend very well and has impressive leg mobility. Even going to the net is not a good idea because he has an enormous ability to score passing shots," he said.

Team World captain John McEnroe also joined his young countryman Shelton in his praise of Alcaraz, saying, "I would say he's one of the five fastest and most agile players I've ever seen on a tennis court. His hand is exquisite, he can do whatever he wants with the ball, he has an incredible feel. Plus, the power he's able to put into his shots is amazing."
Alcaraz after beating Fritz in deciding Laver Cup match “Team World has a new name for you. They called you ‘Fed 05.’ That means you’ve been playing like Roger in 2005. This is widely considered to be the best season a man has ever played..” *Carlos smiles and looks over at… pic.twitter.com/7KoQVviitR
