Emma Raducanu is ready to resume action after missing the last few weeks as the British tennis star landed in New York and issued a very excited comment in her US Open return.

After not playing in Toronto and Cincinnati, Raducanu returned to London. And after doing some practice and training blocks in the UK capital, the 21-year-old Briton arrived at the US Open at the start of this week.

Shortly after touching down in New York, Raducanu didn't waste any time and quickly got to work.

Then, the 2021 US Open champion also met with some fans and took selfies and signed autographs.

"(Heart emoji) missed being back here (heart emoji)," Raducanu captioned her Instagram Story.

After pulling off a historic victory at the 2021 US Open, Raducanu lost in the first round at Flushing Meadows the following year. Last season, the British former world No. 10 didn't compete in New York because she was recovering from multiple surgeries.

While it's a positive thing that Raducanu is now fully healthy and able to play at the US Open, the negative thing is that she has battled certain criticism lately over playing in just Washington before the final Slam of the year.

And at the start of this week, former British star and Olympic silver medalist Laura Robson had enough of some of the comments that were directed at Raducanu.

“She’s not a player who needs a huge amount of matches going into a big event. I think we’ve seen that before, where she might play the week before, just to get some fine-tuning done, but she really enjoys the training block and plays her best tennis when she’s coming off a really strong couple of weeks of practice," Robson told the PA news agency.

“So, it’s a really good sign that, yes, she’s had a few matches and has some confidence and some wins under her belt, but also has the chance to get to New York feeling as fresh as possible, whereas everyone else is probably feeling a bit shattered already.”
