Last week of the regular season for the DP World Tour which moves to South Africa for the Nedbank Golf Challenge 2023 which closes an exciting competitive year and serves as a preamble to the World Tour Championship in Dubai. Parterre de rois at the Gary Player Country Club in Sun City (South Africa), in a small field of truly exceptional level that breathes the air of a Major. Francesco Molinari will also be on the pitch.

Nedbank Golf Challenge, schedule

There are six players on the field this week fresh from the glittering Ryder Cup in Rome, four Europeans and two Americans. Tommy Fleetwood (seeking a third consecutive victory at Nedbank), Justin Rose, Nicolai Hojgaard and Robert MacIntyre will all be on the first tee on Thursday morning and are certainly among the golfers to keep an eye on if they are to play for something important on Sunday afternoon. Also present in South Africa are two stars and stripes champions: Max Homa and Justin Thomas, who after a safari with their family will go to Sun City to play on one of the most beautiful courses of the entire DP World Tour season.

Francesco Molinari, the only Italian representative on the field this week, will also take to the magnificent par 72 course at Sun City. Ryder's vice-captain and winner, among other things, of the 2018 Open Championship, will presumably end his competitive year in South Africa. Molinari will then focus on a 2024 which will see him much more often on the European circuit, and above all which must mark the first step towards rebirth to try to return to the glories of five years ago.

The big names on the DP World Tour kicking off this week are endless. The Polish Adrian Meronk is also playing a lot in the Race to Dubai, currently third in the order of merit and author of a truly exceptional season. Also fighting for the trophy will be Rolex Series winners Ryan Fox and Victor Perez, German Yannik Paul who had an incredible 2023 and Danish Rasmus Hojgaard. The South African troop is rich at the start of the most important tournament held in Africa, and all the eyes of the public will be on Branden Grace, Zander Lombard and Thriston Lawrence.
