Boris Becker has officially confirmed that he and Holger Rune will extend their partnership to 2024. Becker, a former six-time Grand Slam champion, was added to Rune's team in October. Initially, it was announced that Becker would work with Rune until the end of the 2023 season. After a couple of positive weeks, the two have decided to continue working beyond 2023. "I am very excited to continue my partnership with @holgerrune in 2024. We are building a team around Holger to bring out the best version of himself, on and off the court," Becker announced in an Instagram post.

Rune's team also confirmed Becker as a part of their team for 2024

Prior to hiring Becker, Rune was in a very negative streak and had won just one match since Wimbledon. At an ATP 500 event in Basel in late October, Becker debuted in Rune's box. Becker's positive influence was evident right from the start as Rune ended up making the Basel semifinal and achieving his first notable result since the Wimbledon quarterfinal. After a very positive Basel run, Rune made another solid result at the Paris Masters, where his run ended in the quarterfinal following a tight loss to Novak Djokovic. Over the weekend, Rune's mother and manager Aneke revealed to Danish media that her son will continue working with Becker. “We look forward to continuing the good work in the preseason and 2024 with our team, with whom we will also end the year. I’m delighted that we have found a good setup where Holger is happy and can develop, so that we can once again set goals and aim to win Grand Slam. It’s been a difficult and educational year with many good experiences, but also disappointments, hardships and new things to deal with… This experience is necessary to be able to take home the big trophies," Rune's mother Aneke wrote to Danish press, via TV2 Sport.
