After her victory over world number one Iga Swiatek, which earned her a place in the Wimbledon semifinals, Elina Svitolina was asked whether her husband Gael Monfils is going to come see her next match against Marketa Vondrousova.
“I wouldn’t want to change much. I’m not really superstitious, but I don’t want to jinx. He’s happy at home. He’s watching from home with Skaï and my parents. He has his routines before my match. He's also right now recovering, getting ready for the US swing. It’s ok, I let him stay at home for now,” said Svitolina.
Svitolina about how is her daughter SkaiThe Ukrainian player also talked about how is her daughter Skai reacting to her and her performances.
"She's with Gael right now at home. I was FaceTiming with her after the match. She was really distracted with her ice cream so I was not the priority there. She's still at this age when she doesn't care if I win or if I lose. She's just happy by herself. Sometimes when I come back home she's happy too. I enjoy seeing her happy with Gael. Our moms are helping us a lot as well. It's great that we have a big family and lots of help," Svitolina said.
Skai is not even 1 year old as she was born in October 2022.
