Andy Murray comments on Novak Djokovic passing Roger Federer Rafael Nadal in Slams

Andy Murray says it is incredible and amazing that Novak Djokovic has managed to pass Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer in the all-time Grand Slam race. 

At this past French Open, 36-year-old Djokovic made tennis history again after winning a record-breaking 23rd Grand Slam title. 

By winning the French Open, Djokovic officially left both Nadal (22) and Federer (20) behind him. 

For many years, Federer was owning the all-time Grand Slam record.

At one point, all three had 20 Grand Slam wins each.

Last year, Nadal improved to 22 Grand Slam wins but Djokovic has since won three Grand Slams.

"It's incredible what he's achieved. To have passed Rafa and Roger in the Grand Slam title chase, it's amazing. I think if you look back sort of 8 to 10 years, the numbers, sort of how far away he was from them, what he's gone on to achieve in sort of the latter stages of his career, it's been incredible. Also doesn't look like he's slowing down. I think what he did at the French Open, it was phenomenal. Brilliant performance against Alcaraz in the semifinals. Then, just very clinical, considering how much was on the line. I think, the thing that you have to admire about him is that he's been very clear on what it is that he wants to achieve, trying to get that Grand Slam record. When he put himself in a position to do that, like, he delivered. He didn't look like he was getting nervous or overthinking it or any of those things. He went and did it. It shows the strength of character that he’s got," Murray said.

Meanwhile, Murray admitted he would not mind facing Djokovic in the latter stages of Wimbledon.

When Murray won his first Wimbledon title in 2013, he defeated Djokovic in the final.
