Holger Rune says he feels "the tensest" against Novak Djokovic because "do one thing wrong and you lose."
Rune, who turned 20 in April, is one of the rare active players who can brag about having a positive head-to-head against Djokovic.
In his first-ever Grand Slam main draw match, Rune suffered a four-set defeat to Djokovic in the 2021 US Open first round.
In 2022 November, Rune won his first Masters title after upsetting Djokovic in the Paris final.
Last month, Rune improved to 2-1 head-to-head against Djokovic after stunning the Serb at the Rome Masters.
Rune on why he feels 'the tensest' against Djokovic"Novak for sure. If you do one thing wrong against Novak you lose. You need to be very well prepared," Rune told FirstSportz.
This past week, Rune kicked off his grass season with a semifinal result at the Queen's Club.
When asked if he could challenge Djokovic at Wimbledon this year, Rune provided a humble response.
"I didn’t win a grass match before this year, now in Queen’s. So to put me as a challenge to Novak is maybe more of a dream. Still, we always hope dreams can come true. And work for it. Let’s see," Rune said.
Also, Rune was asked to share his thoughts on the greatest of all-time debate.
Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are widely regarded as the three best players in tennis history.
But now that Djokovic owns a record 23 Grand Slam titles, some argue the Serb is undoubtedly the greatest of all time.
"In my opinion, the debate is foolish. We are taking about three tremendous players in each their way. A huge inspiration to all three for the generations below," Rune explained.
Meanwhile, Rune highlighted multiple times that his ultimate goal is to win Grand Slam titles and become the world No 1 one day.
