Camila in RomeCamila came from behind to beat the Spanish Arantxa Rus in the first round of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia, after a crazy battle, which ended after midnight local time.
Now the Italian beauty is preparing for round two in front of her crowd. The Italian reacted in the best possible way to the difficulties encountered in the first set and defeated the qualified Arantxa Rus with a score of 4-6, 6-2, 6-3
Camila was then eliminated by Karolina Muchova 7-6 (4) 6-2 at the Italian Open 2023, in Rome. The Italian managed to lose the first set while leading 5-1 and after wasting seven set points. The Czech then dominated the second set, beating her rival. Before the match against Muchova, Camila made her fans dream with two great victories.
The Italian tennis player had defeated the Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, seeded number fifteen, in straight sets, with a score of 6-4 6-2 after an hour and a half of play. Before Muchova wins her second personal game bringing the score to 5-2 and then up to 5-5.
There have been five set points wasted so far by the Italian tennis player who after fifty-four minutes of play begins to lack concreteness. At the tie break, Muchova closes 7-6(4). Now, Karolina will face the Spanish beauty Paula Badosa in the next match.
Camila also revealed her dream: "I love playing in Rome: it's a beautiful city and I'd like to live there one day. I took a ride on a scooter, even if it's a bit dangerous, through the centre, between the monuments and it was wonderful. And then I like people, you can talk to everyone, and it's all very simple. In the past I didn't really like playing on clay, then I realized that I could do it exactly like on hard courts."
