Mena Tour, results

Three Malaysian players tried to undermine the winner, but only managed to get a good finish: Ervin Chang, second with 208 (-8), Paul San, third with 209 (-7), and Galven Kendall Green, fourth with 210 (-6). Zemmer was joined by the Czech Gordan Brixi and the English Brandon Robinson Thompson, while Vecchi Fossa finished level with the Korean Wonjun Lee.

On average Andrea Saracino, 21st with 219 (+3), Michele Ortolani, 27th with 221 (+5), and Edoardo Raffaele Lipparelli, 38th with 224 (+8). Federico Zucchetti did not pass the cut, 69th with 156 (+12).

William Ashley Harrold, 34, from Nordwich, is his second success on the circuit after the one in the MENA Golf Tour Championship dated 2012. He also has one title on the Challenge Tour (Belgian Challenge Open, 2014), two on the PGA EuroPro Tour and three on the Hi5 Pro Tour. He started his lead with a 64 (-8) and then managed the advantage with some trepidation, because in the final he risked the victory with three bogeys on the first nine holes which he made up for with two birdies decisive on the last five (73, +1). He received a check for $13,500 out of a $75,000 prize pool.

Aron Zemmer (74 68 69), winner of MENA Tour Tournament 4 in December and joint second with San in the previous Malaysian Swing 1, made a good comeback starting from 34th place and going through sixth. He finished with a run of 69 (-3) thanks to six birdies and three bogeys. Vecchi Fossa (68 75 69) was always in the high rankings (fourth after one round and tenth after two) and gained two positions in the final, keeping pace with Zemmer (69, -3, six birdies, three bogeys).

Michele Ortolani, Andrea Saracino, Edoardo Raffaele Lipparelli and Federico Zucchetti are enrolled in the next Royal Hua Hin Thailand Championship (April 25-27) on the Royal Hua Hin Golf Club course, in Hua Hin in Thailand. The jackpot is identical.
