Several Ukrainian tennis players, several Russian tennis players and a Belarusian: Aryna Sabalenka. The Australian Open winner talked again about how the conflict was reflected in the locker room, especially towards her.
She said: "Yes, I see strange looks and hatred towards me from some people. I know that I have done nothing wrong to Ukraine, that I have done nothing. There are people who don't like me just because I was born in Belarus. It's their decision, I can't control it. Being hated for nothing isn't the best feeling in the world, but it is what it is."
Before she said in a previous interview: "I've often experienced haters on social media after a loss, but I've never faced so much hate in the tennis locker room. Yet, I did nothing. I happened to have strange conversations. It was really hard to understand that there are so many people who hate me for no reason. I've had talks that I wouldn't call real quarrels, but really tough: I'm not saying with the other players, but with their staff, yes... It was tough."
