Gilles Simon wasn't surprised to see Novak Djokovic win the Australian Open despite dealing with a hamstring injury.

Djokovic, who suffered a hamstring injury at the Adelaide International, was visibly hampered by a hamstring injury at Melbourne Park but still managed to win a record 10th Australian Open title.

But as the tournament was progressing, there were those who were openly accusing Djokovic is "faking an injury."

"How many times have I played at 70%, I was on crutches in the morning and I still reached the quarterfinal, because that was my level! Djokovic, his level is to win Grand Slams," Simon said, per Tennis Magazine.

After the tournament was over, Australian Open tournament director Craig Tiley decided to address all the rumors surrounding Djokovic's injury.

During his appearance on SEN Sportsday, Tiley revealed that he saw the scans of Djokovic's hamstring, which showed a 3 cm tear.

“A lot of the challenges around Novak is that he gets a bad rap. But at the end of the day, I don’t think anyone can question his athleticism. This guy I did see, he had a three-centimetre tear in his hammy. Absolutely (I saw the scans), the doctors are going to tell you the truth. There was a lot of speculation about whether it was true or not, it’s hard to believe that they can do what they do with those kinds of injuries. He’s remarkable, to deal with it extremely professionally," Tiley told SEN Sportsday.

Djokovic came to Melbourne knowing he was dealing with a hamstring injury.

Because of that, Djokovic made a decision to not practice on his off days.

Instead, Djokovic was receiving treatment on his hamstring.

That method seemingly worked extremely well for Djokovic, who looked much better in the second set and in the end managed to win the title.
