Romain Wattel narrowly fails at the Asian Tour

In search of playing rights on the Asian Tour, Frenchman golfer Romain Wattel lined up at the start of section C of the first qualifying camp in Thailand.

He only missed 2 shots after 72 holes for Romain Wattel to reach the Qschool final of the Asian Tour. The winner of the 2017 Dutch Open finished in 28th place but only the first 23 of this session organized on the Lakes Course of the Blue Canyon Country Club in Phuket won their place in the final.

Next Wednesday 3 other french golfers will try their luck at the Thana City Country Club in the suburbs of Bangkok.

Lionel Weber, who has been playing for many years on the Asian circuit, will try to recover playing rights after a complicated season.

Samuel Westwood, son of Lee Westwood, took part but finished in 75th place, 10 strokes from the last qualifier.

The final will take place from January 18 to 22 on the course of the Lakeview Resort & Golf Club in Hua Hin. It will take place over 5 rounds.

A first cut after 36 holes qualifies the first 140 and tied for the 3rd and 4th rounds.

Then only the first 70 and tied are selected for the 5th and last round and the players in the top 35 at the end of 90 holes win a right to play.
