This week's Wyndham Championship marks the end of the PGA Tour regular season. This is the last chance for players on the edge of the top 125 to do what is necessary to keep their playing rights.
Only the top 125 in the FedEx Cup standings are guaranteed full playing rights next season, everyone below (except those with exemptions) will have to contend with a partial category. The Frenchman Paul Barjon is the case that concerns us most obviously.

142nd Zach Johnson The American Ryder Cup captain Johnson is now 46 years old and has not lifted trophies since winning The Open in 2015. Down to 313th in the world he should benefit from his captaincy to play a lot tournaments next year no matter what.
148th Charley Hoffman While Hoffmann doesn't have a huge track record, he's one of only two players to make the FedEx Cup Playoffs every year since the end-of-season format was introduced.
159th Luke Donald Freshly named Ryder Cup captain for Europe for 2023, the former world number 1 Englishman readily concedes that his form has deteriorated considerably in recent years, largely due to injuries. He too will be able to assert his new role to solicit invitations.
168th Brandt Snedeker Like Hoffman, Snedeker has finished in the top 125 of the FedEx rankings for the previous 15 seasons. In 2012 it was even he who lifted the FedEx Cup at the end of the Playoffs. This time the deal is different, he needs a miracle to save himself.
