David Feherty surprised the golf world by deciding to become a broadcaster for LIV Golf. A few months ago, Feherty revealed the reason why he decided to be part of the LIV Golf story;
“As a storyteller, this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to help write a new chapter in this sport’s history. LIV Golf is developing ideas and innovations that are going to grow the audience and engage the next generation of players and fans.
I'm excited by the energy LIV Golf is creating, and I’m eager to contribute to a world class broadcast production that has a vision towards the future.”
However, Feherty changed his attitude after some time, and in August this year, he admitted his motives for going to LIV Golf. The main motive behind his decision is money.
"Money. People don’t talk about it.
I hear, ‘Well, it’s to grow the game.’ Bull****. They paid me a lot of money.
An opportunity to be myself again," he said. "It’s become more and more difficult, especially in sports broadcasting, to have any kind of character.
David Feherty wants to be freeIn addition, Feherty thinks that he will now have much more freedom. He believes that things have become too serious and that humor is necessary in certain jobs.
"Charles Barkley can say pretty much anything he wants, because it's, ‘Oh, that's just Charles.’ And it is just Charles. But I have become more and more guarded over the last few years. There are people waiting around every corner hoping to be offended by something.
