Roger Federer talked about Mirka's importance in his life, and not only considering the court. Roger and Mirka are the most famous couple in the world of tennis, anche the Swiss highlighted how Mirka did for their family, during the interview for Caminada.

Federer explained: "When I got engaged to Mirka, I still didn't have any headlines on the board. She is a strong and intelligent woman who has had a huge impact on me both on and off the court. She trusted me and taught me to always do my best. Also, she has been close to me after every defeat.

She has never allowed my profession as a professional player to interfere with our daily life. Mirka has kept our friends and family together, as well as showing me how important it is to follow your own path without paying too much attention to the media or detractors.

Our life together is intense and exciting, we like to joke in company. We have given birth to four children and we are doing everything possible to ensure a bright future for them."

Roger Federer's come back

The 20-time Grand Slam champion only played 13 official matches last year, racking up nine wins and four losses. A few weeks after the Championships, the 40-year-old from Basel announced that he had suffered a relapse in his right knee and had to operate for the third time in 18 months.

Over the past two years, the Swiss has taken over Rafael Nadal in the all-time Grand Slam standings, while Novak Djokovic has snatched the record for weeks at the top of the ATP rankings.

Now it will take a few more months to admire Federer again. The former world number 1 will return in late summer or early autumn, probably for the Laver Cup, scheduled at London's O2 Arena in late September.

The Swiss champion will also take part in the ATP in Basel, which will return to play for the first time since 2019. The last two editions had in fact been canceled due to the pandemic. King Roger hasn't set foot on the pitch since Wimbledon 2021, when he was defeated by Hubert Hurkacz in the quarterfinals.
