World No. 1 Iga Swiatek thinks Rafael Nadal "has some superpowers" as she was absolutely impressed by what the Spaniard pulled off in the Australian Open final.
Nadal, 35, was on the brink of losing the Australian Open final and he seemed to be done versus Daniil Medvedev.
Medvedev was up by two sets, had a 3-2 lead in the third set and three consecutive break points on Nadal's serve but the Spaniard saved those break points chances and won 2-6 6-7 (5) 6-4 6-4 7-5.
Swiatek, who was beaten by Danielle Collins in the Australian Open semifinal, stayed in Melbourne to watch the men's final.
In the fifth set of the Nadal and Medvedev final, the cameras caught Swiatek going crazy while witnessing her idol's stunning comeback.
"Rafa has always been my inspiration. Watching him there at the Australian Open this year, I was there at the stadium. After first two sets, where Daniil (Medvedev) played such good tennis. He has some superpowers, just never gives up, physically, tactically, always there on the court. He's the perfect role model. He's the greatest of all time in tennis right now," Swiatek told Tennis Channel, per Sportskeeda.
Swiatek wins her 28th consecutive matchSwiatek herself knows a thing or two about being dominant as she has won her last 28 matches.
On Sunday, Jabeur eased past Ons Jabeur 6-2 6-2 in the Rome final to win her fifth consecutive titlle.
Swiatek hasn't lost since mid-February and she is considered as the absolute favorite for the French Open title.
Swiatek lifted her maiden Grand Slam title at Roland Garros two years ago and now she will be looking to lift her second Major at the same tournament.
The French Open will be third clay event for Swiatek of this clay season.
Swiatek is 9-0 on clay this season and she has lost only one set.
