Argentine tennis star Diego Schwartzman thinks Carlos Alcaraz ability to adjust his game-style to different opponents is one of the keys to his success.

Alcaraz has proved capable of playing well on both hard and clay, while his first grass season will be kicked off in June.

Alcaraz has won three titles this year as he captured his maiden Masters titles on the hard courts of Miami, while he won clay events in Barcelona and Rio de Janeiro.

Schwartzman met Alcaraz for the first time in the Rio de Janeiro final this year.

Schwartzman barely stood a chance versus Alcaraz as the Spaniard won 6-4 6-2.

"The ability he had from last year to this year to grow, as he grew in his game, in his mental ability to face matches is impressive," Schwartzman told AS. "I think what I like the most, seeing him also win in Miami, is the ability to adapt to the rival.

"Sometimes you have a way of playing and you always want it to prevail, but he changed his way of playing a lot, against Hurkacz, against Ruud, in Barcelona, with De Minaur, with Carreno. His style is very aggressive, but he doesn't allow himself to adapt if he has to run, pass balls."

Schwartzman thinks tennis is in good hands with Alcaraz

Schwartzman had a chance to get to know Alcaraz better and he says the 19-year-old is pleasant to be around.

"The good thing is that you can get to know him better through the language, through customs," Schwartzman said. "We get along well, the people around him are very good and that makes it possible to treat him more."

Alcaraz became a Masters champion and entered the top-10 before turning 19.

Many believe Alcaraz has what it takes to be the next face of the men's tennis.

"Some of the best things he has are off the court as well. That he is so young and that he is doing so well can be a very good example for the future of tennis and very healthy," Schwartzman added.
