College tennis star Arthur Fery hopes Novak Djokovic's vaccination status won't prevent him from competing at the Grand Slams as he thinks the Serb could win five more Majors before he retires.

Djokovic, 34, was denied participation at the Australian Open and Rafael Nadal took the advantage of it to claim a record 21st Grand Slam title.

Djokovic and Roger Federer are now tied on the second place of the all-time Grand Slam record list with 20 Majors each.

eury is one of the most promising college players as he is ranked second in the first division of the US college tennis rankings.

"In terms of Grand Slam titles, it is going to be a good battle between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. I think Novak will overtake Rafa because he has more years in front of him and hopefully, COVID doesn't stop him," Fery said on The Functional Tennis Podcast, as quoted on Sportskeeda. "If COVID doesn't become a problem in the future, Novak could easily get to 25."

Coach: I thought Djokovic would be unstoppable but then COVID happened

"Before any of this with COVID happened, I thought that Novak Djokovic would be unstoppable around this time. [But now], it's all just a mystery with him," Brad Gilbert recently said on the Holding Court with Patrick McEnroe podcast. "I just think that when you get so much equity by winning matches - which he had tons of - and all of a sudden you're not playing and all these things that happened with COVID, I think it's been mentally taxing."

Djokovic didn't get a chance to compete at the Australian Open but he is expected to be allowed to play the French Open.

"Now, it's kind of forgotten, but that guy has been there the whole time. All of a sudden, he's gone," Gilbert said. "I think even if [Novak Djokovic] gets to play all through Europe, I gotta see results and I gotta see how he gets his game back. Maybe he will get it back."
