World No. 8 Casper Ruud admitted that Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas have accomplished more than he has and that it is fair that they get more attention.

Ruud won five ATP titles last year and broke into the top-10 for the first time in his career but all of his titles came at the ATP 250 level.

Overall, Ruud is a seven-time ATP champion and all of his titles have come at the ATP 250 level.

Ruud was asked whether he should be mentioned in the same breath as Medvedev, Zverev and Tsitsipas.

"Well, I think those three guys that you mentioned have done better results than I have. I can honestly say that and admit that they have obviously achieved more. Just look at the facts, you will see that," Ruud answered.

Ruud through to his first Masters final

On Friday, Ruud saw off Francisco Cerundolo 6-4 6-1 to progress into the Miami final.

“It was not where I imagine myself playing my first Masters 1000 final [on a hard court], but I will take it,” Ruud said in his on-court interview. “It is a great feeling and I am enjoying the city and the tournament. It was pretty brutal today. Very humid, which made the breathing a little tough.”

Cerundolo started the match with a break but quickly bounced back as he broke back the Argentine in the second game.

After breaking back Cerundolo, Ruud held on to his serve the rest of the set as won the first set after breaking the Argentine in the 10th game.

Ruud made a shaky start to the second set as he was struggling on his serve.

However, Ruud managed to save two break points in the first game and two more break points in the third game to avoid going down by an early second set break.

Ruud made Cerundolo pay for blowing four break points as he broke the Argentine in the fourth and sixth game to complete a straight-set win.
