Carlos Alcaraz, at the age of 18 year-old and 333 days, became the third youngest player in history to win a Masters 1000. Only Michael Chang and Rafael Nadal have done better than him. The Spanish talent conquered the Miami Open expressing a tennis of the highest level and beating Casper Ruud in two sets in the final.

Alcaraz has already shown that he can beat anyone and that he has all the qualities necessary to always aim for victory. The top 10 is now only 29 points and could become a reality over the course of the season on clay.

The Spaniard gave an interesting interview to Corriere della Sera; interview in which he also spoke of Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini.

Alcaraz said: "Jannik is strong. He is a top 10, he has won 5 titles, it is not so significant that I have beaten him or that I have overtaken him in the standings. Each match has its own story. I dreamed of finding myself in his position, after Miami I'm even in front of him. Berrettini is also very strong, from whom I lost in Melbourne. Here, compared to Jannik, Matteo's serve is a bomb."

Alcaraz has already faced both Sinner and Berrettini and has a positive score with both. Against the Roman tennis player he won two matches: the first in Vienna in 2021 and the second in Rio de Janeiro last February. Berrettini then managed to beat him in the fifth set at the Australian Open this year.

With Sinner, on the other hand, he brought home the only direct clash played at the Masters 1000 in Paris-Bercy in the final part of last season. Thanks to the success obtained in Miami, Alcaraz overtook Sinner in the standings and moved to eleventh position in the world ranking.

The South Tyrolean was stopped by blisters on his feet and retired after five games in the quarter-finals of the Miami tournament. Sinner wrote on his Instagram account: "It was not easy to retire to Miami. It was a complicated month for me. I have rested for the past few days and received some advice on the condition of my feet. I hope I'm ready for Monte Carlo."
