World No. 8 Andrey Rublev called Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal as the "best ever" and added he is curious to see who will finish with the most Grand Slam titles.
Nadal, who will be turning 36, won a record 21st Grand Slam title at the Australian Open.
World No. 1 Djokovic didn't get a chance to compete at the Australian Open after his visa was cancelled and he was deported from the country.
Djokovic had a chance to win a record 21st Grand Slam at the US Open last year but lost to Daniil Medvedev in the final.
"It is very interesting! Those two are the best in history, and now they are fighting for one of them to somehow prevail and be alone on that throne," Rublev told Telegraf. "In my opinion, they are both the best ever. It is important to see that they continue to enjoy tennis, and we will soon see what lies ahead."
Rublev on the Wimbledon decisionOnce Russia started their attacks on Ukraine, Rublev stated "no wars."
Last week, Wimbledon banned Russian and Belarusian players from competing at The Championships.
When asked about the Wimbledon decision, Rublev said he hasn't talked much about it with Russian players.
"We haven't discussed much about it, we compatriots. That in itself bothers me, I try to focus on the tournament, not to direct my mental capacity to something that is off the court while I'm here. I talked to several Russian players who, like me, were affected by that decision. We have decided to perform with one statement each, so we will see what will happen. I hope Wimbledon will hear, understand. It is important that they get positive things out there, because you can only get positive things out of good intentions," Rublev explained.
On Sunday, Rublev won the Serbia Open after beating Novak Djokovic in the final.
