Regal’s MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT concerned Keith Lee’s titles

Last night, NXT General Manager William Regal promised us a MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT for tonight’s episode.

Speculation abounded. Could he be stepping down as GM? Would it have to do with Keith Lee holding two belts? About new talent?

Turns it out, it focused on Keith Lee holding both titles.

The GM opened the show and threw to a video of Keith Lee, saying he doesn’t want to keep opportunities from the rest of the roster. Because of that, he is going to relinquish the North American title.

Regal then told us that starting tonight there will be a series of triple threat matches and the winners of those will face each other in a ladder match (the match that crowned the inaugural champion) at a TakeOver: XXX. The winner of that match is the next North American champ.

We did not get any other information on said TakeOver: XXX yet.

Excited to see a tournament to crown a new champion? Upset Keith isn’t going to defend both titles?

Either way, we can all agree we’re glad William Regal is still going to be NXT GM.
