AEW hyped up Cody’s challenger for this week’s (July 22) Dynamite as one of the top independent wrestlers in the world. It turned out to be Eddie Kingston, who cut a hell of a promo and had an intense brawl with Cody that featured thumbtacks.

It worked great the first time, so AEW is doubling down on this concept for next week’s (July 29) show:
