World No. 3 Dominic Thiem revealed that he was tested once a day after several players who participated at the Adria Tour tested positive for the coronavirus.
Thiem, who won the first leg of the Adria Tour in Belgrade, later played at the Ultimate Tennis Showdown and Austrian Pro Series but he was allowed to play only after each of his tests came back as negative.
"I don't see why I should stay home when I'm healthy," Thiem told Tiroler Tageszeitung.

Thiem's good friend Alexander Zverev participated in both Adria Tour events and he promised to self quarantine for 14 days thought he tested negative for the coronavirus in Zadar.
A week later, the seventh-ranked German was seeing partying in Monaco and he received a lot of criticism, most notably from world No. 13 Nick Kyrgios.
Thiem, who beat Zverev in this year's Australian Open semifinal, has come to the defense of the German and also said that the Australian should focus on himself.
"It was his mistake, but I don't understand why a lot of people want to interfere. Kyrgios did a lot of mistakes himself. It would be better for him to come clean instead of criticising others," Thiem said.

Djokovic, the founder of the Adria Tour, wanted to organize a Tour around the Balkans -- bring some of the biggest name of the game to the region -- and donate all the money raised from the event to charity organizations.
But Djokovic's project ended in disaster and the 17-time Grand Slam champion received the most blame for the events that happened at the Adria Tour.
"He didn't commit a crime. We all made mistakes, but I don't understand all the criticism. I've been to Nice and also saw pictures from other cities. It's no different from Belgrade during the tournament. It's too cheap to shoot at Djokovic now," Thiem said.

Thiem, a back-to-back French Open runner-up, admits playing two Grand Slams in such a short time will be all but easy and he will have to "sacrifice" one of the two Majors.
"To go out early in New York would be better for Paris. I have to sacrifice one of the two Slams as it looks now," Thiem said.
