Bosnian sevdalinka vocalist Hanka Paldum has nothing but good to say of world No. 1 Novak Djokovic as she claims the 17-time Grand Slam champion is a "wonderful and humble soul."
Earlier this week, the 33-year-old Serbian tennis superstar visited Bosnia with his family, and judging by the pictures published by the Bosnian media, the Djokovic family had a great time during their three-day trip.
The Djokovic family was staying at the Pino Nature Hotel on Trebevic Mountain during while in Bosnia, but they also visited the Bosnian Pyramid Of The Sun and Jahorina mountain.
Djokovic, who claimed a record eighth Australian Open title this past January, had an exhibition match scheduled against Bosnian Damir Dzumhur for July 5 in Sarajevo but it was cancelled after the Serb tested positive for the coronavirus.
Paldum, a folk music singer, is one of the most popular singers from her country and she had a chance to meet Djokovic during the Serb's visit to Bosnia.
"Through hanging out with him, I realized that Novak is not so successful by chance. He is a wonderful and humble soul. I just told him: Blessed is the mother who gave birth to you and the woman who has you." Paldum told Sportsport, as quoted on Sportskeeda.
Djokovic sang Paldum song "Black Hair" while celebrating some of his wins and Paldum said: "I know that he always sings it when he celebrates a victory or a title."
Djokovic received a notable gift and everyone who met him spoke highly of himOn Tuesday, the Municipality of Pale gifted Djokovic with around 400 square meters of land in one of the most attractive spots on Jahorina mountain.
The hotel staff from where Djokovic stayed were impressed by how humble and kind the Serb was.
"Novak was wonderful to everyone from the beginning, he always talked with a smile and never -- although we were aware of it -- could one get the impression that he was a world figure and one of the most famous athletes of today.
"He was not too demanding and it was a great honor to work with such a professional in such a simple way," Pino Nature Hotel staff exclusively told Klix.
Djokovic has now returned to Belgrade, where he has been spotted on the practice courts as he is preparing for the season restart.
