NXT’s main event delivered on its promise of big man action

Call it the Big E special.

Two unsurprising things about the main event of the April 1 episode of NXT:

  1. Keith Lee retained his North American title.
  2. Lee and his opponents Dominik Dijakovic & Damian Priest showed out.

The end came after Priest managed to kneecap Dijakovic while taking his Feast Your Eyes finisher. Then Lee pounced his ass out the way, grabbed Double D (without realizing he’d again been injured by the Archer of Infamy’s favorite foreign object) and Big Bang Catastrophe-d him for the win.

Before that, this had a standard Triple Threat match structure. But with lots of “Holy $#!+” moments, courtesy of big men performing feats of strength AND doing cruiserweight things to each other for twenty minutes.

Everybody’s got grounds for a rematch here, and we’re all for it. Sign us up for more big meaty men slapping meat, whenever it’s safe to run this or any variations of this, back.
