His coach lost to Cesaro on the WrestleMania 36 Night One Kickoff show. Drew Gulak was pinned after an airplane spin.

But Coach Drew didn’t have Rob Gronkowski and Mojo Rawley doing a “YES!” chant during his entrance. Daniel Bryan did when he entered the Performance Center to face Intercontinental champion Sami Zayn on the main card.

Gronk & Mojo weren’t the only people in the arena. Zayn was accompanied by The Artist Collective, Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura. Gulak seconded DB.

The champ employed a familiar strategy, evading Bryan in the ring and using Nak & Cesaro as shields outside it. After Gulak took out the Collective...

...the challenger told Zayn he could have a countout victory, but when Sami went to leave, Bryan took him down on the ramp and brought his back to the ring to finally start the match in earnest. That meant more wrestling action from The Great Liberator than we’ve seen in a long time. As you might remember, he’s pretty good at it - especially with a dance partner like The YES Man.

He fought his way back into the action, and when his allies returned, Zayn used the distraction of their attack on Gulak to counter a move from the top rope. Bryan leapt into a front kick, and Sami successfully defended his Intercontinental title at ‘Mania.
