Becky Lynch is still your Raw women’s champion

Despite the fact that she came up short in her quest to win the Royal Rumble, it seemed clear Shayna Baszler was headed for big things on the main roster in WWE sooner rather than later. Sure enough, she was booked as strong as anyone ever has been in an Elimination Chamber match, dominating the entire field to set up a Raw women’s championship match against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 36 tonight (Sat., April 4, 2020) at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

The match was physical, as the two came out brawling and getting after each other with the kind of fervor you would expect from the build they put together. They also traded submission attempts, which, in a surprise is what led to the finish.

Baszler had her sleeper locked in when Lynch rolled over the top of her, putting Shayna’s shoulders on the mat. So the referee counted and, surprise, he got to three.

Becky Lynch is still your Raw women’s champion.

And it’s clear why this wasn’t the last match we saw on this evening.
