Miami Memories: Serena Williams wins against Maria Sharapova

At the end of that day, during the awards ceremony, Serena Williams raised the trophy to the Miami sky, beating her rival, Maria Sharapova for the umpteenth time.

The final of the 2013 Miami Open – then known as the Sony Ericsson Open – was very exciting. Sharapova won the first set but, as in a nightmare already experienced before, she was defeated by her opponent in three sets. A memory to be shared in these days suspended in time due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
