Russian tennis star Karen Khachanov has signed up to play at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam next year, per Michal Samulski.
The 23-year-old will be making his fourth consecutive and fourth overall appearance at the Dutch event when he steps on the indoor-hard courts of Rotterdam.
A bit surprisingly, the Russian star hasn't had much success so far in his career at the Rotterdam event.
Khachanov, ranked at No. 17 in the world, has never won a match in Rotterdam as all of his previous appearances at the tournament ended with a first round defeat.
Khachanov picked up a straight-set loss to Borna Coric in his Rotterdam debut and was beaten by German veteran Philipp Kohlschreiber the following year.
Many believed that four-time ATP champion Khachanov would end clinch his first win in Rotterdam this year after receiving a favorable draw but that wasn't the case.
Khachanov, who achieved a career-high ranking of No. 8 this year, won the opening set against world No. 176 Tallon Griekspoor before the Dutch staged a comeback to stun the Russian 3-6 6-3 6-2.
It remains to be seen will Khachanov finally earn his maiden Rotterdam win next year.
