Cesaro and Samoa Joe came to the King of the Ring tournament to beat the hell out of each other.
In the very first match of the 2019 King of the Ring bracket, Cesaro blasted Joe with a running uppercut less than one second after the opening bell. Cesaro set the tone for the match and Joe kept pace.

For every move Cesaro threw out, Joe had a counter for it. Cesaro even was able to mix a swing in, but Joe would not be an easy out.
Looking for one last move to put Joe away, Cesaro caught himself in a submission attempt. A Coquina Clutch locked in the center of the ring was enough for Joe to get a tap out from Cesaro.

Booked in the same corner of the bracket as Ricochet versus Drew McIntyre, the winner of Joe versus Cesaro was always going to have a tough road to the semifinals. Joe now advances to face either Ricochet or McIntyre in the round of eight.
