Experienced Canadian tennis player Vasek Pospisil dropped a notable praise on fellow compatriot and rising star Felix Auger-Aliassime following their Wimbledon first round clash as he said the 18-year-old.
Auger-Aliassime, seeded at No. 19 in the world, came from a set down to beat former world No. 25 Pospisil 5-7 6-2 6-4 6-3 and set up a second round meeting against French Corentin Moutet.
World No. 187 Pospisil got broken in the fifth game of the first set but then broke Auger-Aliassime twice in a row to steal the opener.
However, blowing the opener didn't affect Auger-Aliassime, who got off to a quick 4-0 second set lead before leveling the match a couple of games later.
The 18-year-old lost no service games in the rest of the match as he broke Pospisil once in the third set and twice in the fourth set to complete a comeback win.
Auger-Aliassime is enjoying a break season on the tour as he has reached three finals this year and achieved his career-high ranking of No. 21 in the world.
"I love Felix.... He's the most mature player for his age that I've seen. Honestly I think he could do amazing things in the sport," Pospisil said post-match, per Ricky Dimon Twitter.
