World No. 8 Kevin Anderson doesn't share the same opinion as top-ranked Novak Djokovic over the ATP structure as the South-African thinks there is no need to change it.
15-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic has been advocating for quite some time to change the ATP structure and also spoke about ih Monday following his first round win at Wimbledon.
However Anderson -- who also scored a win in the opening day of Wimbledon as he beat France's Pierre-Hugues Herbert -- disagreed with the Serb.
"Obviously we have the whole structure of the ATP, right? We have the tournaments and players often disagreeing with points," Anderson said after beating Herbert, per Metro UK.
"A lot of players have come up and, you know, expressed worry about the structure, not believing in the structure.
"I myself don’t feel that way. I feel like this is the structure we have. There’s a lot of benefits from that, there’s some challenges. That’s always a tough one, finding that balance between what players and tournaments want.
"I'd say the frustration is more just the overall picture of trying to move the needle in the right direction. Sometimes it feels, through different things, it kind of stagnates a little bit. Hopefully we can get that moving forward again."
Meanwhile, 2018 Wimbledon runner-up Anderson will fight against former world No. 8 Janko Tipsarevic for a place in the third round.
