Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic believes tennis still has ways to improve as it hasn't yet maximized its full potential as a sport.
Several changes have been implemented in recent years as tennis officials continue to look at ways to improve the game.
One of the biggest changes was introducing the shot clock rule, which was already used at the Australian Open and US Open as the ATP is planning to have the shot clock rule become a permanent fixture on the tour.
Also, there has been much talk regarding the scoring system as a whole different scoring system from the traditional was used at the NextGen ATP Finals event.
"We should nurture the tradition tennis has, but sometimes I feel like because of it we're not maximizing our potential as a sport. There will definitely be some changes in the future, but I believe the changes to the scoring system will come at the end," Djokovic told Serbian press, as revealed by Sasa Ozmo of Sport Klub.
Meanwhile, 15-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic is targeting to win his second French Open title and complete a Calendar Grand Slam for the second time in his career as he is set to clash against world No. 5 Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinal.
