Rising Serbian star Laslo Djere and Slovenia's Aljaz Bedene have both pulled out of the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart.
Djere, who is enjoying a career-high ranking of No. 32 in the world, was expected to make his debut on the grass courts of Stuttgart his year as he has no previous appearances at the tournament.
It remains to be seen will the 24-year-old Serbian open his grass campaign in Halle, where he is scheduled to make his main draw debut.
Bedene, a former world No. 42, also won't be making be making his Stuttgart debut next week as he appears to have chosen play at the Libema Open in 's-Hertogenbosch.
Elsewhere, 2017 Wimbledon semifinalist Sam Querrey also won't be playing in the opening week of the grass season as he has withdrawn from the Libema Open in 's-Hertogenbosch.
In his lone 's-Hertogenbosch appearance -- which came in 2016 -- former world No. 11 Querrey made the semifinal before losing to Frenchman Nicolas Mahut.
It remains to be seen when will the 31-year-old American return to competitive action as he hasn't played in nearly two months -- since making the Houston semifinal.
Following the withdrawal of Querrey, a place in the 's-Hertogenbosch main draw opened for Bedene.
