Tennis - Australian Dylan Alcott has won the men's quad wheelchair tennis event at the French Open, making it his third Grand Slam win in a row. Alcott will be hoping to win Wimbledon's first-ever quad wheelchair tennis title next month making him the first player to hold all four Slams simultaneously and will hope to complete a calendar year Grand Slam later in the year.

Alcott beat longtime American rival David Wagner 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 in just under two hours for the win. Alcott also beat Wagner in the US Open final in September and in the Australian Open final in January.

Alcotto commented earlier, "As an elite tennis player growing up, you dream of playing the four grand slams and for this to be made possible for me is a dream come true. I spent some time with Rod Laver during the last Australian Open and heard all about his Grand Slam. With the four majors now on my circuit, this is certainly a tempting triumph."

Alcott has won eight quad singles titles and three quad doubles crowns in his tennis career. Those include five Australian Opens, two US Opens and now one title at Roland Garros. Alcott started off as a wheelchair tennis player but then switched to Australia's men's wheelchair basketball team. During his stint in basketball, he won a gold medal at the Beijing Paralympics in 2008 and silver in London four years later before moving back to quad wheelchair tennis.
