Daniel Bryan and Rowan retain their tag titles in front of a hot hometown crowd

The Stomping Grounds pay-per-view (PPV) tonight is taking place in the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington, which made it a hometown crowd for Daniel Bryan, one half of the SmackDown tag team champions alongside Rowan.

Could the challengers - the charismatic Otis and Tucker, who’s home town is a bit south in Oregon - turn that hometown crowd?

Nope!

This crowd was INTO Daniel Bryan the entire time and even Big Flannel, who isn’t a hometown boy. Even Otis’ charisma couldn’t protect him from the wrath of this crowd. And when the audience wasn’t cheering the heels and booing the faces, they were chanting things like “Drive a Prius!”

Despite that, the match was still booked where Tucker Knight would be the face in peril who would eventually tag in Otis. But the hot tag was booed by the crowd.

Tacoma did enjoy Otis’ weird gyrating when he “Hulked Up,” though. No one can resist the gyrating.

The end of the match started when Otis and Rowan had a very fun moment of trying to knock each other over. Heavy Machinery delivered the Compacter on Rowan but Bryan had tagged himself in. Tucker hit a splash from the rope on to the floor onto Rowan but got rolled up by DB when he rolled back into the ring.

The crowd got sent home happy when Bryan and Rowan retained. But Heavy Machinery had a strong showing in their first real tag challenge.
