Simona Halep is practicing on clay as that may be an indication that her doping ban is set to be dropped in the upcoming period.

Last October, the ITIA announced that Halep failed a doping test after testing positive for anti-anaemia drug Roxadustat. 

Since then, two-time Grand Slam champion Halep has been out of action. 

Just minutes after the ITIA announcement, Halep released a lengthy statement, in which she described the doping news as "the biggest shock of my life."

Also in her message, Halep promised she would do everything in her power to clear her name and prove she didn't intentionally take the banned substance.

In February, it was reported that Halep was scheduled to have a doping hearing later that moment.

However, there haven't been any official updates or announcements regarding Halep's doping ban in recent weeks. 

Halep reportedly found out how the banned substance got into her body

Darren Cahill, who coach Halep for several years and guided the Romanian to two Grand Slam titles, has been defending the former world No 1 since Day 1.

Last month, Cahill insisted that there was no way Halep would ever intentionally take a banned substance.

Also, Cahill revealed that Halep found out how the banned substance got into her body.

"I understood they found the source of the contamination, not sure if it was in food or supplements, but they found out where it came from. There's no chance she cheated. She's a great person, no chance that she did the wrong thing. I wish her good luck," Cahill told The Big Deal

Throughout her career, Halep has been known as a great role model on and off the court.

Because of that, many were absolutely shocked when the ITIA made their announcement in late 2022.

It remains to be seen if Halep will be allowed to return to action this year and when.
